The Preserve welcomes The Prime Minister of The Bahamas to Phase 2 Opening Ceremony

The Preserve was honored to have the Rt. Hon. Perry Christie, Prime Minister of The Bahamas at the Phase 2 Opening Ceremony on Friday April 11, 2014. It was a beautiful spring day of celebration as the Bahamas National Trust and the Leon Levy Foundation opened the Freshwater Wetland, the Edible History section and showcased the new Lath House designed for propagation of native plants and trees

Bahamas National Trust Executive Director Eric Carey said, “The new areas that have been added to the Preserve not only enhance The Preserve aesthetically but also educationally. This is a dream that continues to grow from strength to strength. We continue to be grateful to Shelby White and the Leon Levy Foundation for their great vision and support of this wonderful project.”

Eleuthera, Bahamas, March _ 2011. The Leon Levy Native Plant Preserve, a 25-acre sanctuary created jointly by the Bahamas National Trust and the Leon Levy Foundation, will celebrate its Grand Opening at 11 a.m., March 24 in Governor’s Harbour, Eleuthera.
