Habit: Tectaria fimbriata grows from a creeping rhizome forming mats/clusters. It is epiphytic/epilithic. The fronds are up to 25 cm in length and are generally deltoid in shape, lobed to pinnatifid. The lobes are rounded. The stipe is tan and covered with elongate scales.
The sporangia occur in round sori spread throughout the abaxial surface in 2 general rows along each lobe midvein. There is a round indusium.
Habitat: Tectaria fimbriata grows in in the Lucayan archipelago on the walls of wet caves and sink holes in Dry Broadleaf Evergreen Formations.
Distribution: Tectaria fimbriata is native to the Lucayan archipelago occurring in the central and northern island groupings.
Medicinal/Cultural/Economic usage: Tectaria fimbriata is not used medicinally in the Bahamas.
